It was so great getting to talk to everyone this week on skype! I enjoyed getting to speak to you "face to face" again. In about 4 months we'll do it again.
Christmas never really came this year it felt like. It was gone as soon as it come. There is something magical about Christmas in France, I really enjoy the spirit that is about the people during this holiday season. Everyone begins unconsciously practicing a teaching of Jesus- service. So everyone becomes happier. They come together in family- another teaching of the Savior. Everyone begins to live the Gospel a little more, without knowing it, and it makes them happier. We visited some members and ate with them. In France another fun part of Christmas, are the traditions. We ate snails, clams, muscles, fat duck liver, and paté (there is no english equivelent). Its a little different, but it makes the season special. I remember sitting down at a table eating saumon, muscles, shrimp, and some fish pasta and thinking about you mama! You always told me that I would eat fish when I was cultured. I feel that I can now officially consider myself cultured.
We went out to Bordeaux this week on exchange with the Talence zone leaders. I got to work with one of my old comps Elder Leduc, and then had a zone training meeting. We came back and had an exchange with the Geneva zone leaders. This week we're flying down to Corsica to go on exchange with our elders down there. So ill be celebrating the novel an in an airplane.. I hope you do something a little more festive!
I love you all. Thanks for your prayers and patience with me. Have a great week and have a happy new year!
Forever Love,
Elder Gruber
