[Week 20] Starting the Train

Sounds like stake conference was great. Who spoke? Jay Burnette sent me the stake news letter, I was super excited to see it. Next time you see him tell him thanks for me!

Well I've managed to get my feet back under myself and into the work. Valence is pretty cool. It's a lot newer, it kind of looks like a smaller version of Lyon. The streets are a lot bigger and the buildings a lot taller. There are lots of stores and more American restaurants in town. Another thing different is that there are tons of buses that run through town. So I purchased by first ever bus pass haha. Its nice having it because it cuts down a ton on time walking around the area. Its weird getting used to contacting people on the bus though! its a lot different. The weirdest thing I think is just having a new companion. I went from E. Wilcox my teddy bear American father, to my english step father. haha its weird adjusting to new people and living with different people.

This week we started teaching lots of new people. Hopefully we will be able to end up baptizing some of them. We are teaching 4 rugbymen haha. We managed to work our way into their circle and are teaching bunches of them. Theyre all really nice and hopefully some of them will start progressing towards baptism. The ward here is pretty great already. Its cool because they have youth. Theres about 5 or so young men preparing to go on missions in the next couple years, so we have been having them come out and help us teach.  Its been fun.

We ate over at this partial member family (one of the rugby players) and the mother served us KFC. Haha it was hilarious I was so shocked to eat it. I felt like I was back home eating it in the kitchen with dad sitting to the left of me and mom on the couch.

Oh I forgot to email and mention a funny story that happened about 2 weeks ago. When I was in Brive we were teaching a member and he started going through a pile of pictures to show me a picture of someone in the Branch of Bergerac. While he was flipping through I saw a picture of one of Bishop Smarts daughters! I freaked out and had him search back for the picture. haha turns out her husband served in Brive. Who would of thought I would see that Smarts out here in France.

Well we did something wrong with the oven and it started fuming toxic gas (or so we assume) and completely smoked out our apartment. We set up all the fans and opened all the windows, hopefully we can get it all out by the time we return tonight! Thats all for this week hopefully I'll have some awesome stories to recount newt week. Thanks for all the prayers, I definitely need them! I love you all, youre all so awesome. If I could, I would like to just invite you all to go tell someone you love, that you love them. We dont say I love you enough! As Shakespeare said, 'they do not love, that do not show their love'. Have a great week everyone! Until next time,
stay classy.
