[Week 63] Another week

I hoped everyone passed a good forth of july. We're really blessed to be Americans. I wouldnt want it any other way.

For our fourth, we made hot dogs and cheeseburgers, bought some coke, and Elder Heck made a fantastic cheesecake. We ate outside on a patch of grass and throw the pig skin around. Its weird how back home the 4th day of july is so exciting and here, its just another day. We had a good time. Im excited to be back home next year and see the neighborhood parade and watch some fireworks, that will be really fun.

We've been teaching our ami victor who is really progressing amazingly towards baptism. We taught the word of wisdom on saturday and he accepted it all by the end. He's truly being prepared by the Lord. Its great to watch the changes he has made since I first talked to him in the street. I pray that all goes well and he isnt stopped by opposition. We got to teach our other miracle ami Hocine, who was gone in Germany. He is an honor to teach. He works and goes to school full time so hes really hard to see, otherwise he'd be baptised already.

I hope everyone can really attach themselves to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I've learned truly on my mission that 'being a Mormon' couldnt mean less if it tried if you arent converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are alot of members who serve missions and lead the church but have no idea what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. So dont be one of these poeple. And dont let one of these people hurt your testimony. Im sick of seeing incredibly great people go less active because of the frankly pathetic imposters. Whether it be the return missionary who looks like a hero (while really its just a show), or the leader that looks great (while really he just likes the power), or whatever it may be, just stop and remember that Christs Doctrine and Christs Church are true, the people who are part of it arent always. Its a sad reality. I pray that we can be truly attached to Jesus Christ, and do what he says. I love you.

Elder Gruber
