[Week 60] Sleepless in Bordeaux

Hello again those who I love most. This week was pretty crazy and Im absolutely destroyed because of it haha. I hope that everything is going well back home... HAPPY FATHERSDAY! I wish I could do more than just say that because I know that it doesnt mean much. But thank you so much dad for all that you have ever done for me. I love you very much and I can see that a lot of who I am today is because of you. I love your sense of humor and your smile that lights up the room! I hope I can make people laugh like you do one day! Also Im grateful for all the hours you spent with me in the batting cage and in the gym. Im so appreciative of your example of the and service. I wish I could have showed my gratitude better I love you!

Tuesday we welcomed Elder Richards from the quorum of the seventy. It was a great zone meeting. He spoke a lot about teaching with simplicity. I definitely need to improve on this, I try to always make it a point to teach with dumbing simplicity but I still find myself saying things that dont need to be said. I pulled out a lot fromthe conference. From monday til thursday we had all the ZL teams staying in lyon because of the Leadership council in bordeaux. So we got to spend the week with lots of really good consecrated missionaries. on thursday morning we woke up at the crack of down, 3 o clock in the morning, to head to the aeroport. We got to bordeaux and were met with a rainstorm! we had some time before the conference so we got some stuff down then headed to the chapel. We were disappointed to find out that Elder Richards was actually skipping out on the meeting because all the french rail roads were on strike (which is a weekly occurance here in france, everyone is always on strike). After the meeting we somewhat hurried back to the aeroport and once there found out that our flight was delayed until 1 am. Great... so we tried moving the tickets for the next morning with no avail. We eventually got to get on our plane and started the trip back to Lyon. After hunting down a taxi and attedning to an issue with a sister team, Elder L'Hommel and I went and crashed at the office elders appartment at 430. so we pulled an all dayer! After our short 2 hour nap we were back up at 630, exhausted and ready to work :)

In the midst of all the chaos we had fixed a companionship goal to contact 1000 people this week but it ended up getting a bit sticky when our monday and thrusday got taken up with unplanned events. But we kept working and managed to get 1020 people talked to. I was pretty pumped that we realized our goal. This week our zone was the highest contacting zone in the mission and we were exstatic. We engaged all of DL teams to all talk to 1000 people this week. We need miracles here! Big things are around the corner in La Mission Francaise de Lyon!

Thanks for the support. I love you all and have a good week. Make the Temple a priority in your life.

Until next time!
Forever Love,
Elder Gruber
