[Week 16] Heat

Sounds like it was an awesome time having everyone in for a little while! I'm jealous of the Janbo and Rio, thats for sure!

So basically something huge is about to happen. I'm not sure when, but soon.

This week's weather was miserable. It's been sooo hot. 40 plus everyday. With unreal humidity. Which is perfect because every since Jean-Charles baptism we've had 1 lesson with an ami. Which means we're always outside finding every minute haha. This week was no different.. Every rendez-vous we had fixed fell through so other than some lessons to less actif members we spent every hour of the day finding people to teach. Unfortunately we can't get new ami's. We would come in for lunch, strip down and pour water on our heads and just lay sprawled out dying from the heat. Then we would go back out, and when we came in for the night our shirts were a different color because of all the sweating. Maybe no one is interested because we smell? Or it could be because people get scared when they see us. The French people arent the tallest or biggest people in the world. So when they see two big tall guys in suits, some people get a little scared.  This week E. Wilcox contacted this old guy and he looked up at us, his eyes got all wide, and he immediately took off sprinting in the other direction. It had to be one of the funniest things Ive ever seen.

Yesterday at church this big english family on vacation showed up and afterwards invited us over for dinner. They asked us if we had any other dinner appointments or things scheduled, and if we could fit a quick dinner in. We pulled out our planners and saw finding from lunch til 9, and told them, yeah I think we can squeeze in a quick dinner. I got to drive in a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side for the first time so that was pretty weird/cool. They fed us a quick lunch them we gave them a spirutual thought, in english. It was pretty classic. Elder Wilcox couldnt teach in english and was using frenglish. The whole family found it super weird. I was still young enough in the mission that I could speak english like a normal American, but still found teaching in it a little tricky haha. Afterwards they gave us this delicious little cake. It was super awesome getting to spend time with and see a super strong big family like that. Apparently the church is super strong in England which I didnt know. But in their town which is about the size of Bergerac, they have 2 full wards!

When we got back we went out finding for the rest of the day/night. After having gone the whole week without having any good teaching oppurtunities in the rue I contacted this awesome lady who stopped and listened. She was super skeptical and wouldnt even tell me her name at first. But after 10 mins we were laughing and the spirit was there. She finally told us her name haha. She definitely was touched by the spirit, we're really hoping to get to teach her soon.

Thats all for this week! Like I said, something huge is coming! Hopefully it will happen this week. We'll be doing splits with the DL this week. He'll be coming down and stay with me here thursday. Then we're doing splits with the ZL's saturday. Miracles always happen on splits for some reason. So this week to come is going to be great!

I love you all! Youre in my prayers. Let me know if there is anything I can do for any of you?

Stay Classy,
Forever Love,

Elder Gruber
