[Week 45] Weekend in Paradise

Weekend in Paradise

Hey family! Parents and Kenz thank you so very much for the packages! I love you guys very much. Its weird to think that now I am 20 years old. I definitely dont look or feel 20! I guess thats how it always goes though.

Well this week was insane. Last P_day we spend the day together in Grenoble as a district and took this chairlift up into the mountain to see an old military fort. It looks over the entire ville and is a super pretty view. It was definitely one of the best p-day activites ive done on the mission! Then we ran back and barely caught our train so we were thinking our luck was starting to change.. until we got to Gap and Elder Poncharville realized he had left the keys in Grenoble. Of course there werent any spare keys in the ville either. So since there wasnt any trains out of Gap that night we had to sleep at a members house, and since there arent any normal members that live in the ville we had to take an hour walk to a members house and slept over there. The next day we went to find out the time for the trains and turns out there was a strike and there werent any trains leaving. Luckily we found out that there was one bus that was going there later that day so we grabbed that and spent the night in Grenoble. The next day we came back. Then the day after that we went to Valence for an exchange. While there I got to see George and Missy. I beautiful poli family that Elder Garland and I worked with a lot to reactivate and get married. Turns out they are getting married the 30th of this month!! It was the best news Id heard since Jean Charles got baptised. We ate pizza together and talked it was great! The next day we returned to gap then saturday morning we took a bus to Nice. We drove 5 hours through the Alps in a really pretty route. We spent the rest of the day working with the zone leaders there, then the next morning we went to the stake conference. It was a really great service and it was super encouraging to see lots of members everywhere! I got to see the ville of nice a little bit, but not too much sorry mom. It was really pretty though and I got to see the ocean from afar. I would love to serve there someday!

Our bad luck streak is still following but we hope things can start to turn around for us soon. Its hard sometimes to keep your faith high, but its really important in missionary work. Next week we have zone conference, aka the best day of the transfer, then we'll be doing an exchange with the zl's in Lyon. I gotta run now but I love you all! If you have a Temple recommend... USE IT! Go to the temple this weeks :) I love you.

Forever Love,
Elder Gruber
