[Week 43] Bizarre Week

Bizarre Week

Hello dearest family!! This week was kind of interesting. It all started off when I got a call from one of the assistants telling me that we're getting transfered out of the Nice zone and getting put in the Lyon Eculley zone.. and into the wait for it... VALENCE district. haha so in almost 1 year of my mission I have served in 2 districts, and 4 towns. At this rate I imagine ill go to perigueux to finish my tour of the Brive district then return to Grenoble to finish my tour here! Elder Poncharville and I were a bit bummed because we were kind of stoked to go to Nice for reunions and exchanges to escape the cold but Lyon is even better. Just a bit colder too!

This week we met several new false prophets of Gap! It was a very interesting series of events. We've began to see the signs of their propheties... its a bit odd. We're not sure what to think of the situation! Amongst the many false prophets we met some cool people who we are hopefully going to start teaching. One of them is this dude name Claude-Michel. He's a great guy and when I taught him about the Book of Mormon in the road he wanted to buy one on the spot! so instead we fixed a rdv for the next day and taught him. He accepted to be baptised the 30 march. So possibly we'll be having 2 baptisms at the end of the transfer. We just gotta get these guys testimonies first! Our other engagé destiny we didnt get to see this week. Africans are notorious for being what one might say 'flaky'. They love Jesus Christ but theyre elusive to get ahold of!

Late saturday night I get a call from the branch president telling me that 'church is cancelled'. I was baffled to say the least. I had never heard of this kind of thing.. not even in the Ensign! He claimed there was too much snow for him and the priesthood quorum leader to come to church so he called all the members and annuled the service! I wasnt too happy to hear about this seeing as we have 2 baptismal engagés coming. so we talked and he gave me authorization to conduct the meeting. I called President Roney and he ok'd it. So yesterday I played the role of Branch President haha we had a whole of 7 people there but it was good. A classic experience if nothing else. Elder Poncharville and I gave discourses, and it was a great time together. In any case I hope we have have at least one Priesthood holder other than us at the next sacrament!!
