[Week 58] There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today

Hello again my beloved family. How are you? I'm doing great! Because for the first time since I've gotten to Lyon, the sun is shinning and its not raining! It's great to have that guy back on our team because funny enough people are lots more open when there is sunshine. It sounds as if you havent been for a lack of sun though back there.
This week was pretty good. We had a good district meeting. Our district leader is named Elder Gandolph, his family owns gandolphos and he was a pitcher at provo high school. I took him out on exchange this week and we had a blast. I enjoy being a zone leader because it allows me to get to know other missionaries better. We started teaching a man who is absolutely incredible. His name is Hocine. He was raised muslim but has recently realized our need of a Savior and converted to Christianity. We had a fantastic lesson and he understood amazingly. What makes me excited is that he is what i would call a Kingdom Builder. He is studying to earn his law degree, and his dreams lie in the presidency of the republic of France. A Mormon president would be cool! (That sounds familiar) Anyhow I hope all goes well with this great man. Our other cool ami Elizabeth is really excited for her baptism. We just need to make sure she's ready and repentant. We have a lot of really great things going on right now on in our secteur. Its just on the brink. It could blow up and any time or fall apart but I know that its going to blow up :)
As zone leaders we look over the missionaries with the young adults center. unfortunately there are really alot of strict rules due to prior disobedience. So we have a weekly council with the senior missionary couple in charge and the young adult leaders. This week we had it with the Lyon Stake President Matthieu Benazaar. He's a powerful speaker and I suspect he'll be a seventy pretty soon. He drew a cool graph and explained that there is a limit to how hard one can physically work; but there is no limit to faith. He showed and explained the stakes numbers and goals and compared them to others and explained the importance of comparason. He said if you dont compare you cant know its wonderful.
There have been tons of manifestations ici at Lyon this week. Just last week gay mariage was legalized and there has been a lot of hoopla in the streets. The french love dressing up in weird out fits too when they make theses demonstations. We've seen some pretty passionate debates in the metro and in the streets haha and as a missionary its a terrible place to be! So we try to avoid such crowds. Other than that I love you all and I pray you have a great week.
Forever Love,
Elder Gruber
