I Love My Family
Hi.
Well Ill start off by saying that im very desirus to eat all that wonderful food you ate last week. Im very jealous that you all got to eat all the marvellous mexican food! that is something I definitely miss. Another thing I miss is capitolism haha everything here is suuuuper expensive! its ridiculous! Ive never seen prices so high. In the stores a tiny 4 inch sandwhich with just chicken (hardly any) and mayo is the equivalent of about 10 dollars! I definately took the dollar menu back home for granted..
This week was good! We got to teach a good amount of lessons to a lot of really cool people with lots of potential. We also met lots of cool people this week but unfortunately we had a lot of no shows to rendez vous as well, which is really annoying because it wastes a lot of time! But Hopefully we can start to teach some of these people we've been meeting. The difference here compared to the other villes ive done is that its alot easier to get numbers and fix rdv's but there are a lot of rdv's where the person doesnt show up. Im not sure what we call it in english. In one week in geneva I got more numbers in the street than in 6 months at Bergerac and Gap combined just to give you all an idea of the changement.
I'm pumped for this week because we have zone conference and interviews with President Roney on thursday. Conference is the best part of each transfer. There really isnt any experience we can have like serving a mission. Im so blessed to get to receive so many great experiences here. You always leave zone conference feeling great and super duper inspired. So ill fill you all in with details next week.
This week we were teaching a lady with a cool young guy who got back from his mission to california not too long ago and he said something really interesting. We were teaching a less active and he was explaining how blessed we are. Of all the people who ever were born on this earth, we were very lucky to be born into the families and countries we have. And for those of us who have the gospel we are even more lucky. If you were born in America, to a loving family, and into the church, how lucky are you? If this applies to you I hope you realize how many billions of people have lived and died without any of these three things. Then be extremely grateful and thank the Lord for all he has given you.
I love my family... thank you for everything. Everyone please have a great week and read 3 nephi ch 9. May the wind be always at your back!
Forever Love,
Elder Gruber
